The Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools was founded in 1969 by administrators and for administrators. We focus on high quality professional learning, networking, legal defense, advocacy, communication, and recognition for Alabama's school leaders.

Leadership Institute Series 2022-23
The 2022-23 Leadership Institute Series includes seven seminars hosted in north, central, and south Alabama locations. CLAS offers system subscriptions for an unlimited number of employees within the subscribing system to attend any or all of the Leadership Institutes in a given year. This year’s Leadership Institutes address Phase I PLU requirements for Standard II: Teaching and Learning, Standard IV: Diversity, and Standard V: Community & Stakeholder Relationships for those holding Instructional Leadership certification. Attendees may earn credit toward a PLU or receive a certificate toward clock hours.
Remember: System subscriptions do not offer the benefits of being a CLAS member. If unsure you are an active CLAS member, please contact our office at 800-239-3616.
Any subscribing systems may send an unlimited number of employees at no additional fee.

Join fellow educators to examine the cognitive processes used to draw a circle around our “in groups” and learn to mitigate any negative fallout impacting our practice and learning environments. Gain information about the brain science behind belonging, explore cognitive biases, and use this knowledge to examine personal connections and trends that can impact student and staff relationships. Participants will gain strategies to combat implicit bias and create a more inclusive environment for students and staff.
CLAS offers system subscriptions for the Leadership Institute series to school systems. If your system is a paid subscriber, any school system employee can attend at no charge. Non-system subscribers and non-members may attend for a fee. Attendees may earn credit toward a PLU or receive a certificate toward clock hours.
